Make North provides pottery facilities, with courses and membership and professional artist studios in Preston City Centre.

Our ambition at Make North is to build a thriving collective of northern makers and work with them to develop projects and events, allowing us to play an active role in the community.

We have a 3yr lease on the former Saul Street Clinic, on Walker St in Preston City Centre. We have onsite parking for twenty cars and are close to the bus and train stations, the building is fully wheelchair accessible.

100% of the energy we use is renewable and all our waste clay and glazes are reclaimed and reused!

Classes take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, 7- 9.30pm. They include hand building (working with coils and slabs),casting, surface decoration, glazing and wheel throwing. We have classes suitable for complete beginners and improvers.

NEW! Saturday workshops

First up, slip and glaze decorated pots on Saturday September 28th, 10am- 1pm. We’ll prepare the pots; you decorate (after we’ve shown you how of course!). You’ll be using coloured slips, with sgraffito & stencils and paint-on Amaco glazes. You will make two pots, which will be fired and ready to collect the following week.
